Black-tails and Brassica
Bodega Bay
2025
1/100sec at ƒ/5.0, ISO 100
Columbian Black-tailed Deer are some of the most commonly known mammals within Sonoma County, whether for their natural beauty or because of less favorable reasons such as eating landscaping. This image features three does. All are eating a mid-afternoon snack; almost visually seeming to be a triple exposure of a single deer rather than the three that are present in the image. Captured with warm lighting, this image also conveys the sense of camouflage provided to deer during late summer and autumn as colors shift from vibrant greens to rich browns.
