In nature photography, knowledge of the subject is almost as imperative as the camera itself. When I began my artistic journey, I initially focused on floral subjects. I always found interest in photographs of birds and wished I could capture the essence of birds, even those commonly left out of such images. Speaking with some about my art, I notice a bias towards the showier, flashier, larger birds of prey and hope to expand views of less appreciated birds in art.
